Has anybody had issues with their doors warping? If so, what was the fix?

Keep the wood back away from the door is your best bet. Another route would be to insulate the doors using bricks or blanket.

I do see most people with the ceramic blanket insulating their doors. If yours is already insulated and still warping, then try to keep the wood back like NYmapleguy suggests.

I did try the arch board on the doors but that fell off after the first year. I am going to grind down where the doors meet and use the ceramic blanket.

Appreciate it guys!

Building a 2 inch thick fully insulated new steel door can solve that problem and make it much more enjoyable to boil (fire the arch). Only took me 30 years to figure that out:)

Seek out your local HVAC tech/company. They often times will have old coal/wood furnaces that have cast Iron doors on them they scrap out.

Fer a few bucks you could snap one up.

OR check out the local recycling/scrap yard. I LOVE shopping there. Be nice and respectful and you could have the run of the place.

Another trick to protect the insulation on the door. Screw a piece of tin over the insulation. But don't compress it. It will probably only last a season, but it will be a cheap fix.

Yes on our leader the door was warped and cracked and the cast front was cracked also. I built a whole new front and door last year.

Had the same problem with my Leader 2x6. Bought an insulated air tight arch front with a woodsaver blower. No more door warping or cracking problems and a noticeable improvement in boiling rate.
