I have a leader 2x4 combo pan and its an older pan early 2000's and have built up grime an niter over the years any suggestions on the best way to clean it to make it look like new?

Soak in a vinegar solution, maybe 50%, for an hour or so and you will be amazed. May need scrubbing too. Use straight vinegar for stubborn spots. I use gallon jugs of white vinegar for the pans.

I also use vinegar. If that doesn't work try pan acid.

Is there a "leadfree" label on it if it is soldered? If not, don't get the solder real clean. If welded, use white vinegar and warm the pan with a torch (I use a big weed burner torch, but keep it moving, only warm until you start to see vapor coming off (false steam), if that doesn't do it, use milkstone remover or even a pan cleaner. Read and follow directions.

When I first tried it it didn't seem that effective. I found that I wasn't letting it sit long enough. Letting it soak a couple of days or more is much, much more effective for me. Heating it up before soaking is also a standard recommendation. On my 2x8 I use about 3 gallons of vinegar. I think it makes sense to keep it shallow and concentrated at first in the syrup pan before diluting it with water deep enough to cover what needs to be soaked.
