Was curious about anyone's thoughts on a d60 trivac. I will have to get a motor for it and was hoping to rig it up to a gas engine. Will it pull it's worth in a sugar bush?

Are you talking about Leybold D60 Trivac? from what I can see they look like pretty good pumps. Not cheap either. Says the 60a is 36cfm that's a pretty good sized pump. Should work out good. To me they look a lot like gast pumps which aren't exactly designed for sap, but are very commonly used and work great.

If the d60a is anything like the Busch oil sealed rotary veins it will start pumping oil out the exhaust if it gets below 20 inches of vacuum

How do you go about sizing and RPMs for a gas engine to replace an electric one?
