here are the 4 reasons I will not attempt to tap any of my maples this fall. LOL!
I don't think they would let me have any of the sap.

Oh that is just the best picture!! How lucky you are to have this gorgeous family. They're fantastic. We only get to see them here from a distance.

I would not so much be worried about while I was boiling but what happens after I have left for the evening!!

We had this large bear on our property last year and he didn't settle in for his long winters nap until late December. With the nose those critters have nothing would be safe. I worry about them coming out of the den in Spring and making a b-line to my operation.
