Folks some shots as the new pans are custom built and fit to the arch.
Pans designed and built by Creekside Welding and Machine.
Rear drop flue is loaded and headed for trial fit on my old arch.

Builder used all the available room in the arch and doubled the surface area of the flues from the old pans to the new ones.
New pans are 38 inches wide to match the total width of the arch.

The new top rail AOF system allowed the flues to be deeper.

The existing steam away unit is tried and some minor work was done to make sure the fit was ok with the new rear pan.

A gap at the back of the arch will need to be addressed.

Brandon,
Hope things are good!
Not sure I will get 150 gph, that would be a nice plus. Maybe 130?? Just finished getting the rig back together this morning. All the hoods and fittings and drains. Will load some pictures soon. Both front and rear pan have been filled to the brim with vinegar/water solution cleaned rinsed and checked. Love being able to fill the pans to the top to clean them. That was not a option on the old king pans. Should make end of season clean up much easier.
Filled the steam-away with vinegar/ water yesterday and let it agitate most of the day. Cleaned that up real nice too.
Also new heavy duty fire grates are being built for the arch by Creekside Welding and Machine (Dave Yokim). I like the robust features of his grates and they should be good for a long time. Should have those in place within a week or so.
I may have him do some work on my draw off hardware to make them tighter to the evaporator, by eliminating some pipe nipples and welding items solid.
Just need to get busy cutting 6 -7 cord of slabs for the sugarhouse.
Jim Brown,
Thanks!
Regards,
Chris

How deep are the flues??? Looks like with the added air and area from the new pan you'll have a nice improvement in evaporation rate!

Jr,
The original flues were about 6-1/2 inches deep and there were 10 of them. With the AOF system more depth was available in the arch so these new flues are 9 inches deep. Dave did the calculations and i believe this doubled the surface are of the rear pan.
We shall see how it boils!
Did get a 1/4 cord of slabs cut and in the wood shed this morning.
Andy, good to hear from you!

Chris

All that extra steam should make your enhancement pan evaporate more too.

Float box, designed after the previous system on the old pans. Worked for many years should be a robust system.

Full 38 inch wide pan system comes flush with the new AOF system for a clean fresh look on the stealthy arch.
