View Full Version : 2 inch valve opening

I have two plastic tanks with 2 inch openings. I have all the parts I need to downsize but a piece of 2 inch tubing about a foot long . Dealers want $7.10 a foot and plumbing supply stores don't sell by the foot. I have some gray 2 inch conduit left over from a electrical job. Do you think it would be all right to use a 6-8 inch section? I know it's not food grade. It will go on the tank in the sugar house and will only be used with sap.
Thanks

There should be no problem using the conduit, as long as you clean it well after the season.

I think Lowes sells 2" tubing and I know it is not that expensive. I bought 1.5" food grade specifically listed for maple syrup from US plastics for less than $ 2.00 @ foot, but they do sell it in 10' increments. Lowes had the same stuff, but wanted a little more for it but they will sell you any size piece you want. :D
