I'm heading out to Salem NH by way of Bascom's next month. Looking to see a lot of covered bridges on the way.

If you are heading east along 90, I recommend getting onto Rt. 20 if you have the time. It's a beautiful state road that rolls through farm country and it parallels 90. We did this trip last summer.

I like history, baseball, good food and good beer, so for stops, I recommend:
Buffalo:
-Niagra Falls
-Darwin Martin House (if you can't get enough Frank Lloyd Wright architecture in Wisconsin)
-Anchor Bar - where buffalo wings were invented and it totally lives up to the hype. Good food and good beer.
-Buffalo Bisons - AAA baseball
-Teddy Roosevelt Inaugural Site

Seneca Falls/Auburn:
-Women's Rights Museum/Site of first Women's Convention
-William Seward Home
-Harriet Tubman Home

Syracuse:
-Dinosaur BBQ - Some of the BEST BBQ I have ever had! (Awesome beers, too!)
-Sky Chiefs - AAA baseball
-Syracuse University
-Eerie Canal Museum

Cooperstown:
-Baseball Hall of Fame

Albany:
-State House - an amazing building for architecture/history and they give tours
-Food Trucks - If you are there around lunch time a ton of food trucks pull alongside a park next to the state house. No beer, but all really good food.

Have fun!

I would visit Crown Maple, Madava Farms in Dover Plains. Very high tech and progressive maple operation. Crownmaple.com.
