Are the XL coated jugs worth the extra money? Just what are they supposed to do to provide better storage?

AL, I friend of mine uses them all of the time.He say they have a oxygen barrier which helps prevent the syrup from spoiling or getting mildew...Its a matter of personal prefrence...I use the other jugs myself, its all in the canning, as long as you can them right you shouldnt have any problems.....

The coating is an oxygen barrier as micheal has stated but more importantly it is a UV barrier as well. UV light darkens your syrup as it sits on the shelf. XL is supposed to take care of that. I use them but I also like the looks of them.

We've been using the XL jugs for a long time now and haven't had a return since we switched to them. I think they are worth the extra, especially if your product may be sitting on a retail shelf for any amount of time.
