What do you guys think about a Honda wx10 pump for loading/unloading the truck? My 12v harbor freight pumps not going to keep up with the new evaporators demands. The wx10 is 400$ weighs only 13lbs is a 4stroke 2 year warranty and pumps 37 g/min. I was considering a Honda wb20 for 430$ but its 40lbs and does 152 g/min which is overkill but it seems like a better built unit. What are you guys pumping with? I want something that will last years and years of pumpingpumping

Wx10 is a great little pump. I've had mine for a long time.

Best piece of equipment I have beside my evaporator. If you are trying to empty road side buckets it might be a hassle turning it off and on. Can't be run dry. If pumping out of bigger tanks it would be great. You have to do some thing to weigh down the suction tube. It floats and sucks air. I wired a SS rod on mine that sticks out half an inch. Holds it down and you can suck most every thing out

I have a wx 10 and this year a wx 15 both have been great pumps!! The only thing the dealer told me is to make sure and run a good fuel stabilizer because honda will not stand behind any carburater issues!!!!

Do you have to prime the pump before firing it? How about a aquatec 550 12vDC?

Yes you have to prime the WX10 the first time you are going to use it each day (assuming you drain it each night to prevent it from freezing). We have used one of these pumps for three years now to such sap out of barrels in the woods to our transport vehicle and it works great.

we have two 10 yr old WX 10 that we use most of the time and a wx 15 for backup. At a very minimum these combined have pumped over 250,000 gallons of sap with only one carb. rebuild on the oldest wx 10. excellent pumps.

Another nice light weight pump for a lot less money is the WellBilt 1 inch gas pump from Northern Tool, $150. It works great for pumping sap.

Can't agree more with the previous post. Previously used a tanaka 2 stroke. Then bought a wx15 runs great and uses a lot less fuel c than the tanaka did
