Does anyone have pictures of a commercially manufactured vacuum booster? Since I work in the construction industry I have access to 8-12" diameter PVC pressure pipe. The contractors are always throwing away short pieces which I figure would be perfect to build a homemade booster. Add a plug to the top and bottom, fittings for the incoming and outgoing lines and you're done!

ennismaple: 8" PVC makes an exellent Booster We cut two round pieces of lexan and epoxyed them to both ends (8" PVC caps have rubber seals that are designed for pressure not vacuum and will not seal) Cut your 8" about 18 to 24" long cut one hole about 3" below top and another on opposite side (not end) We tap ours 1-1/2" you need a 1-3/4" hole saw to use this tap . Tap in a vacuum gage while your at it . Out going line goes to releaser. Don't install ends untill you are done tapping all your holes, then your trap isn't full of crap. Making stuff is part of the fun of sugaring for me.
May the sugaring gods smile on you
