Hello All
We hope everybody had a good season this year! We were light, as expected, new sugarhouse, with all the new equipment etc being installed etc...
Anyway, anybody know, without contacting Leader, the approx volume of my 2x4 Patriot raised flue rear pan and my 2x2 reverse flow syrup pan?
Just wondering.....???

Doesn't totally convert but there are approx. 231 cubic inches in a gallon.
A 2x4 pan holds approx. 5 gallons for every inch of sap.
A 2x2 would hold half of that.

You will have to calculate the volume of the flues and subtract that out.

Try this link, it should give you the options for sap depth, flue pan sizes, width and depth of flues and etc, and should calculate the amount to fill the pans to your desired level and how much to sweeten them and etc. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0ApWpP2dZfyPfdHlUTFdNUHptZEp3aHpXVW1tcjcwcG c

The rear pan holds about 20 gallons to reach the tops of the flues. 25 gallons will get you to almost the top of the distribution pipes. The syrup pan holds about 5 gallons.
