I am getting kinda frustrated here in Northern Ontario due to not a good run yet, my mind is playing tricks on me.
I have some lines on tubing that just empty into 5 gallon pails on the ground. These lines go from tree to tree and then drop down to the bucket. After the last tap, I leave about 6 feet of line to the bucket for a good downward slant.
Now, there is some slack in the blue tubing from the last tap to the bucket. Even more slack when the tube fills with sap. It does empty in to the bucket, but I am thinking that I need to shorten the line after that last tap and forget about vaccum. The sap seems to sit in the line and acts lazy.
I feel I want to place the bucket right under the last tap and forget about the 6 foot run. If I lift a line by hand after the last tap it will flow into the bucket, other times it just sits there and I have to shake to line to make it flow.
Will shortening the line allow the sap to empty the line better?
I have about 8 individual 5 gallons buckets I can shorten the lines on.
Thanks in advance for your help.
PS,,,,,yes, the buckets are all lower then all taps connected to the line.
