I have acguired an old 12x16 gambrel shed. Needs new floor but structurally sound. But this is the start of the foundation. Started framing the floor with treated 2x6. Was wondering if there are any suggestions of what to use for flooring out there. Concrete is out. Treated plywood or 3/4 t&g OSB? Looking for ideas.
What ever you do make sure you have drains. I am going to start my new sugarhouse and it will have trench drains on each side of the evaporator and hope to have the floor slope toward them. Hose or power washer to clean up and down the drain it goes

Still haven't figured out what to use as flooring.

I just used pine boards and they have held up just fine for 25 years as long as they aren't touching the dirt. Hemlock is a better choice, or 5/4 pressure deck boards.
For my 3x10, I made a seperate footing for the arch so it did not sit directly on the wood floor. It also allowed me to leave out a section of flooring in front the the arch so I didn't have to bend down to fire the rig and reduce the danger of hot coals landing on the wood.

Than perryw. I'll look into the 5/4 boards. I can mop those down in case of a spill or clean in between boils.

I would use tounge and groove plywood or pine boards or whatever base. cover that with a 1.5 inch thick mix of Portland cement and pearlite. lightweight weight and easy to clean up.

Went with 5/4 treated decking boards for the floor. Walls are up and putting together all the loose ends before the roof goes on.

Yeah me and the son and some buddies are. Don't know about the wife yet tho.lol. Wanted to put it beside the garage but she persuaded me to put it down in the woods. Now I think she is second quessing our decision as it is down a pretty steep slope.lol
