Weather looks real poor next ten days. Highs up into 60s and even 70s with lows in 40s. Buds here are tiny haven't swollen one bit. The batch I made yesterday was in between medium and dark. What's everyone else in southern nh's plan? Pull or wait out the buds? Or have you pulled?

After a dry day yesterday, I chased the pans with water. Now today I had a small run. Would need 200 gallons to sweeten the pans again. So we'll see what happens!

Same here - pulled em all, cleaned up and put away the toys for another year yesterday. All taps were dry. It was still a lot of fun, even with the frustrating season! May the Summer be long!

well things really started to slow up here on Friday early afternoon. not much on the buckets. Saturday seemed slow for sap but stilled ended up with about 400 gallons from late afternoon Friday through sunday AM which I boiled yeaterday although sugar steadily dropping and was down to 1.5 so have to RO a lot to get concentration up. yesterday was slow only ended with about 200 gallons. We did get to 29* so I am hoping today is a little better. I actually got a little in the buckets yesterday although I haven't collected them since Friday.
I have 500 on vacuum so I will stop when the trees stop or that it doesn't make sense and I paying more for electric than the syrup to pay for it!!! buds are brighter red and some are just barely starting to swell so time and temp will tell. guessing it might be all over by next weekend. especially with 40's at night and 60's in the day.

On Saturday when I went out to collect a few of my buckets smelled and tasted nasty. Cloudy sap too. Then yesterday, at least 90% of my buckets were cloudy/smelly so I pulled them all. These are all 5-gallon jugs that have multiple taps feeding into them. Overall I dumped about 20 gallons of nasty sap from about 100 taps.
Plan to go over to my brothers house where I have the 3/16" gravity set up and evaluate the sap in the drum over there to see if it's any good or if it is time to pull those too.

I've started cleaning up, will take me a few evenings to get it all done. Hoping to work the soil and bring out seedlings from my greenhouse this weekend.

Not much running over here. I will give it until the end of the week, but that may be it for me. :(
