Starting out pretty good today. My Smarttrek system tells me about 200 gal. already, just since about 10 am. Hoping for a great day!

Upon arrival at the sugarbush today the frogs were vocalizing in the swamp. The fuzzies are coming out on some of the soft maples. And tonight the peepers are singing. Only thing I haven't heard yet is the brown creepers (birds) singing in the swamp. One or two more boils should put me to my goal, but I'll go til it slows down too much, which will probably be after tomorrow.

Saturday was my last boil.It's the first time ever that I boiled in just a tee shirt.It may get cold enough yet for sap to run by me but I'm done for the year.It was a very strange year.

Boiling again right now. Turned off swamp maples last night so just collecting from 600 sugars on the hill. 1.25 gpt today in 80 degrees. Still making dark A. Letting run on ground for next day, then see what happens Wednesday. .

Gave up yesterday. Saturday night was really tough. Hard to get it through the evaporator without burning due to the foam. Then didn't want to filter. Breaks my heart as there's a full tank in the woods as of 6 last night. But it's been a great season.
