Yes, but you do not have to put any name with it. I filled out the poll page at the bottom but is didn't work. Very few things on this web site work very well. Just to upload a photo takes an act of congress. Thanks Russ.

I just noticed, Fred started the poll, and said he was the oldest, but never did post his age.

One thing I am surprised about is how many young (under 45 LOL) people there are here. Good to see this sport might not fade as time progresses.

OK guys, I am 64 1/2 years young. Started and learned sugaring when I was around 18 with an old neighbor. Got away from it until I got some land of my own about 15 ago. Started doing 5 trees on pans over cement blocks. The rest is history.I hire one person to help plus I have my wife. Look at it this way guys spring is the beginning of the growing season and syrup is the first crop of the year. :D

Sugaring season is the first season of the year followed by spring, summer, fall and winter. It is also the best season. :D 8O

AMEN!!! :D :D When we get around new equipment at displays, we are like kids in candy shops. When I was at the Verona conference 2 years ago, it was like heaven on earth. Down here, there are no dealers within 4 hours of me and I never see anything new unless I buy it! :D :D :D

As I look at all of the replies it looks so far like there are only about 3 older than me and 4 the same age as me. Looks like you young wippersnappers should show a little respect to your elders! (even if this one does not know much about maple yet, Im trying, but it seems I forget faster than I learn.)

mapleguy is 70, but not a frquent poster, nor a sugarmaker per se, so I guess we can let Fred have the trophy LOL. He is a very busy maple supplies dealer though, and grew up in a maple family, his grandfather, uncles, and now brother are/were all sugarmakers.

Sport: an active diversion requiring physical exertion and competition.

Yup, sounds right to me :D
