Now that the maple season in northern ohio is for the most part over how was everyones season compared to 2013. Mine was about half of last year. ADARK and B were what I made the most but also had some substandard. The interesting thing to me was all of it was very sweet not what one would expect. Cleanup here is already underway, time to get the clubs out and gas up the MC.
Almost as good as last year. Still going on vac. Still tastes good. Should be a nice run this weekend. We were at .48 gal syrup/tap last year and are at .40 right now. Sap flow on sap sacks was below average this year but good on vac.

This season was a slow start but I made up for it the last week of the season. End the season with the same amount as last season. First year with vac that help. I had one run that was mid-amber the rest was dark.

Finished the year at 140gal. Eight gal less than 2013. Sap was sweet starting at 37 to 1 and ending at 43 to 1. Almost all medium , about 20gal light and 20 gal dark the rest medium. Glad to have this year over, washing tubing Sat. and demand is really good with some very nice early orders.
Final numbers 329.5 gallons. .46/tap(.48 last year), vacuum taps were .56/tap. A great season! Made 81 more gallons than last year, but had 200 more taps

finished up here on the lake with 158 gallons of syrup. mostly medium from start to finish with some dark amber mixed in. no light of grade b. averaged out to .26 per tap which is good for our younger more soft maple heavy woods. buckets are washed and should finish rinsing out the tubing today after work. made more syrup than last year but we did hang a couple more buckets than average. very happy with this years final results

We ended up making 90 gallons of mostly medium. This is a little less than last year for us. Not a bad season.
