Boiled last night have had no problems all season check the
Syrup this am and it's thread off my scoop any one know why ?

How does it taste? If it tastes off it might be ropy syrup made from spoiled sap. Or it could just be dense syrup that became more viscous with colder temps.

Flavor is good good color I'm confused to as why it happen my sap also has good flavor but is getting cloudy

Your season is ending. :cry: I had to pull two taps yesterday and figure that by Friday the maples will be done here. :mad:

That's true end of season just don't want it waste wood with 600 gallons of sap to boil if it's gonna turn out bad syrup

Do you mean stringy? Then your sap got infected and usually dump everything and clean well before getting fresh sap in.

Yeah stringy so I can dump and wash and try to finish it off what I have left ?

I would do that, wash everything well. If you are in your later season, there has been plenty of bacteria growth by now.

Unless it is freshly collected sap in clean containers there's no point in finishing what you have left since that is likely spoiled and the cause of your ropy syrup.

Thanks for the information I'm am very vigilant about keeping all my tanks clean and I washed front pan on Saturday so I will wash out and clean everything and try one more time and see what happens thanks again !
