We gathered for a week to get 8 gallons that boiled off to just over a quart. Gathered last night before bed and had a six gallon gather from 10 buckets. I think I have created a monster after he tasted the fruits of his labor on pancakes a few days ago.

That tsunami that everyone talks about hit me today. I was thinking that all my taps were drying up where I tapped 2/17 but I guess not. Almost didn't have enough storage!!!

We had a nice run today also. I think it was around 150 gallons and we managed to boil it all off before bedtime today. The last four days have been the late night boils, so it was nice to have an early night!

Had 6 gallons gathered yesterday and 5 more today. Little dudes are headed off to bed leaving dad to man the turkey fryer. An arch is in the future for next year for sure. The dude has been out marking trees for next years pipeline already!

Most of our taps were running well today. We also tapped in pretty early this year, and we were wondering if it was close to being done.
We were pleased to collect about 50 gallons today. That makes about 460 gallons collected for the season so far - on 125 buckets. Hope it continues for a while. Good luck everyone.

So we (I) boiled till 12:50 this morning and we made 1 3/4 quarts of nice medium amber. The dude was very happy with his maple production. He doesn't seem too bothered by his fathers lack of sleep either. Not that I mind, I am just so happy and proud that he is really interested and putting in such a big effort with out any prodding from me!9569

I had about 300 gal of sap a week ago and was able to make 6.5 gal of A amber. I collected 90 - 100 gallons for the last 4 nights and then boil until 12am. Getting out of work at 3:30 has been a real bonus. My new pan has saved me big time! Faster to the initial boil (20 min), lower wood consumption. Very pleased.

We boiled again tonight. The run to day was bad due to the warm overnight but we had 8.5 gallons of sap from Friday and Saturday. Made a quart and a half of nice medium amber. Makes out total for the year off of 10 taps at just over a gallon of syrup so far. The best part of today was we got started early enough I will see bed before 1 am.

Think we are pretty much done down here in Gray. Finished up today the last of the sap. Have around 20 gallons finished with 150 taps. Decent season but not our best
