We have about 350 taps in, but so far have only collected 200 gallons of sap. I thought this weekend would be better but there is still time to get the trees going.

I thought I would be overrun also, but I wasn't. Got around 120 gallons this weekend out of 100 or so taps. I haven't drilled them all yet, learned my lesson last year on drilling to soon. If I have enough help I may drill the rest but work is picking up to quick, may stick with what I have for this year. On the other hand I did get some ultralight syrup out of the small weekend runs. It believe it will be good later this week, let's hope it lasts more than a few days!!

Cooked down about 45 gallons of sap on saturday for just shy of 1.5 gallons of syrup. Nice blonde syrup. What a beautiful weekend to be outside.

Last weekend had 3 of my 5 gallon buckets overflowing. I decided about 2 am that night I was done for the season (enough boiling!). Went back 4 days late to pull my taps, and there wasn't 5 gallons total across my 8 taps.

It's been a fun first year. I learned a ton.

We thought we were done last Sunday and it was a poor year with only 450 gallons on 292 taps. Then it got cold again for 3 days and snowed. Good Friday God opened the taps. Got 300 gallons on Friday and 220 on Saturday. Today we'll see what the Easter bunny has in store for us!! The season was saved!!

Season Over. Easter weekend from Good Friday through Monday got 660 gallons of sap and then it was over for the 2nd time. Pulled taps. Finished with 1165 gallons boiling into 27.75 gallons of syrup. Wow we cooked that last 660 gallons from 7:00 AM Monday till 8:00 PM Thursday when we finished bottling. That was a long stretch at the camp. Great though! Lots of friends helping. Had 11 out Saturday and had a big pancake breakfast. That's the whole reason we do this is for the friends and family that all enjoy getting some (free) Maple Syrup. At this time taking the price of the land and everything else into account I have about $1,633.98 per pint into their free syrup!
