So I am going to be bottling 1.7 ounce glass nips for wedding favors. 180 of them. Right now I am bottling out of a coffee urn, but was thinking of getting a 16x16 water jacket canner for next year. So I will probably buy that earlier as the wedding is in June. I have done a few nips and they have turned out great, I heated the bottles in the oven before filling at 190 degrees. My question is, what should I do if I have the water jacket canner which uses a propane burner? I would have to run that outside, then I wouldn't be able to keep the bottles hot for very long if I bottle them outside. What do others do when bottling a lot of small glass bottles off a propane canner?

As long as you are not running the propane burner for hours on end you should be ok. I run a 2X6 gas finisher and a 16X24 canner in my sugarhouse with no problems. It is not as tight as a house though. If you are doing it in June open a window to let in frsh air if you want.
I have done the 1.7s in the winter so instead of doing it in the sugarhouse I just bring the pan inside and put it on my electric range and I heat the bottles in the oven below. Your only talking 2 to 3 gallons so your stove top will heat it up fast. I also set up a platform just to give me a small area to place the bottles as I bottle them

I wouldn't worry about running your propane canner any more than your propane-fired oven on Thanksgiving day.
