Anyone know where to get firebricks at a good price? They're $3.29 at a local TSC store but would like to find a better price!

You might want to try a local concrete company/distributor. I know the one near me here in SW Michigan sells fire bricks for $1.58... both for full size and for half-thickness.

No idea where you are, unless you are in England, but I got mine at Bascom's for $2 ea.

Please read this thread I posted on fire brick. All fire bricks are not equal.

If you're not too fussy, you could try some of the scrap yards. I know around here a lot of folks bring in old wood stoves when their insurance companies tell them they have to remove them from the home. Got a buddy who works at a local yard and he supplies me with all the bricks I need. The yards just bury them as their is no value to them. Doesn't hurt to make a few calls and check it out?

I used standard red bricks that were laying in piles in my yard. They seem to work fine so far. This is the second season I have had them in the evaporator.
