arch board bonding HELP

hello,

Recently built my own arch, its all out of 1/8" steel with 3/16" angle iron. I purchased some thermafiber board from bascom.. sure most of you have seen it or used it.

My questions are,

How do I bond the arch board to the steel?

How should I bond the 1/2 fire brick to the arch board? (this i've read most people wet the brick and use a premixed refractory cement..just want to make sure)

I'm not sure you have to bond the board to the arch, or the bricks to the board. I just put the board in place, then fit the bricks fairly tight and used the cement between each brick to hold them in place. After aggressive loading a few of the bricks have cracked, but they are fit so tight that there is no chance they will come loose. The board is kind of crumbly and I think that if you did take the time to "bond" the brick to the board it could still pull away if you wanted it to.
