I was watching my 3/16 lines and I noticed the sap was moving really fast and there were air bubbles in the lines, does this indicate a leak, like on 5/16 or is this normal?

Air bubbles are normal, its from the trees. Mine moves pretty fast on good runs. I have a vac gauge to make sure things are tight. The thing to look for is this. If you have air bubbles moving at one speed before a specific fitting, and then right after that fitting, the bubbles are moving a lot faster, then you have found a bad spot.

You might want to get a vacuum gauge for the top of your line. It will help you tell if there is a leak... If you see 29" of vacuum at the top of your line... you probably don't have a leak.

Sounds pretty normal. You can always walk the line and double check. Funny I used to watch the mainlines like a hawk and freak when things were slow. Now I know how my trees react with wind, temp changes sunny/cloudy days and just relax and enjoy a great run. Good luck this season.
