Let's say you've got a freezing night, followed by a warm day... Followed by a series of nights and days that are NOT below freezing.
I'm sure there are many variables. But generally, how long might you expect sap to run following that freezing night? Will it go that day, into the warm night, and continue the following day? Longer? What factors would influence this?

On gravity we have had sap flow any where from 20 to 36 hrs after a freeze, then no freeze next couple of nites. Vac helps

Barometric pressure also plays a part. Low pressure may keep the taps flowing longer. Last year I had trees that flowed almost 3 days without stopping during a rainy spell with slightly above freezing nights.
I have found that the smaller trees will only run 1 day after a freeze, but my large trees will run 2 days or sometimes 3. Also trees in the woods or on the north side will run longer after a freeze, possibly because they start later.

That has been my experience as well.
