10 day forcast

My wife just handed me a weather printout of the next 10 days for our sugarbush. 40s with high 20s at night.Maybe this season wont be a total loss!

same forecast in northern NH. friday, sat and sunday will have high around 40. But, based on the extended below freezing temps here, I expect only minimal sap flows until monday. I will put the tanks out in the woods tomorrow and finish tapping on friday.

hopefully we still get a few good runs, before the buds come bursting out. but only day to day will tell the truth. good luck to all that haven`t lost there hair or shirt with this weather mother nature has thrown our way so far.

I still cannot tell if this season is just starting or almost over. I have made about 4 gallons so far and have some left over from last year so I will be fine for personal needs (I do not sell any syrup), but it would be nice to have one more good run so I can stock some up for trades.

I'm guessing that will be the case over here as well. My woods have not seen frost-free ground yet this season.

Ya, we still have ice covering the ground, but the buds are all still small and tight. How many nights above freezing can it go before the flow shuts down?
