Steam away

I am beginning to plan for next year. I have a 2 1/2 by 8 cdl I am pleased with and am thinking of adding a steam away next year. Flu pan is 2 1/2 by 5. Any feedback from people who have experience with the steam away's? Are you pleased? Worth the investment?

I have a neighbor who put one on a 3x8. improved his evaporation rate exactly 65%, just as advertised.

Dana maybe look into Sunrise Metals Sap Raider same design as the Steamaway I think but less $.

I also have a 2 1/2 X 8 with a Steam-away. I personally think they are noisy as hell, but very efficient. They raise sugar at least 2%. I do love the hot water; its great for cleaning and flushing my filter press. With my RO, we processed 2200 gallons of sap into syrup in 4 hours.

I am on the third year with my steamaway and I love it. Too me, it's well worth the money. I don't need the hot water but I do enjoy way faster boiling time and use of way less wood. Easy to clean and maintain. As far as noise, I have a hood on top of mine and blower outside and I hardly hear it.
