I'm curious as to what everyones syrup is looking and tasting like. Mine is ADARK and has somewhat of an off flavor.

We have only boiled two days so far, Made light first day and medium on the second. Quality good. Had some that was not real clear, but cleared overnight. Tomorrow we try again, will let you know how it goes.

All of my boils have resulted in A Medium Amber. The last two have been very close to light amber. Taste has been real good.

This weekend we made almost 30 gallons of syrup that will grade out at just past dark A into the B range.

Mine has remained ADARK bordering on B sugar for my tubing was 2.2%, buckets were 2.7%. Taste is as would be expected but I can't believe the amount of sugar sand.

I've had seven days we've made syrup. Looks like two of those were light, three medium, two dark but barely. Those were on really warm days and the sap was looking positively chunky as it flowed overhead through our clear PVC gravity pipe. Pulled the syrup pan in total to clean the sand out of the pan and pot finished it. Now making medium again. We typically boil sap in the evening, collected the day prior.

I attribute most of the lighter color to the new rig this yesr. Its just plain faster, plus the oil firing is so perfectly consistent.

Just finished filtering the first three gallon (small time hobby) turned out A Dark real rich flavor, have a 2x4 continuous flow, not sure if I draw it off earlier and finish on stove if it would be lighter or not. about the time I get it close on the pan, it is late and I run out of sap, usually takes three days to get enough to process.

Light flavored B until Sunday's boil when I think we crept into DA. A lot of niter this year, but filtering easily.
