Does anyone know where to find a fitting for a threaded valve on a 300gal cage tank? My intent is to step it down in size to assist in filling 5 gal buckets to take to the evaporator.

Here's another source for IBC tank fittings. www.bascousa.com/container-components/ibc-parts/

There are 2 or 3 different threads on IBC valves. One is the real course thread (buttress), another is NPT (national Pipe Thread) and I've seen one other that I don't know what it is called, but it was a rather fine thread. Be sure which you have before you order the wrong one. If it is one of the fine threads, you can use a Fernco coupler, but the buttress will not seal in a fernco and you'll have a leak. That requires the buttress adapter.

I have some cage tanks made by schutz that take a regular 2 inch camlock, they have a fine thread on the end for a dust cap but the camlock slides right over it

Thanks everyone. I am sure it is the butress thread. It is too coarse to be NPT. I love getting help from this forum.

If its the strange looking course thread then look for labeling on the container. Theres probably European writing on it.(German or Scandinavian?) Thats the most common type and when you order an adapter they're apt to ask you if it is European thread. I just went through it myself.

Be careful as there are multiple types of coarse threads -

I found this site very helpful for the IBC thread ID - scroll down to end:

I just went through this after a cracked valve.

Go here (http://www.globalindustrial.com/p/storage/bins-totes-containers/containers-ibc/s75x6-female-buttress-x-2-male-npt-pipe-thread-ibc-valve) and get the measurements for the outlet you have.

Use the chart (mine was S75x6). Once you have the correct size, hit amazon to get what you need.
