Bar Keepers friend, or is it Bar tenders Friend. Works great for more on shinning up the stainless. Comes in powder form like ajax or creammy form like diswasher soap. Get it anywhere, got mine from lowes or the Depot

Not the only way, just my way.

1. Drain the sweet from the pan running it through one prefilter.
2. Set sweet aside in bucket.
3. Rinse pan with a few gallons of water and light rub to get the gobs and corners of sand out.
4. Pour in enough vinegar so liquid is above scum line.
5. Let sit overnight.
6. Drain most of vinegar off back into the original bottles. I reuse the same vinegar all season.
7. Give the tougher spots a scrub.
8. Drain the rest of the vinegar off.
9. Rinse well with water.
10. Leave empty until next boil then pour sweet back in.

I drain my front syrup pan after every 3-4 hours, rinse it out with water, then put in on the pan washer using only the distilled water off my piggyback. I usalyy set the timer to run for 2-4 hours. The next day I put the cleaned pan back on the evaporator.
