I have a metal fab guy who will make a 2X4 divided pan for $90-100 depending on whether I want 22 or 20 gauge stainless. What say you?

Lighter gauge will boil faster, the heavier one will be more durable

22 gauge but it's a lot harder to weld.

That's what I initially told him. He seems pretty confident he can weld 22. Seemed like a good price and could have it done within a week!. Might even get to use it before this sorry season is over.:o:lol::cry:

Most syrup pans are 22ga. That I have seen.
