big tree vs small tree

Does it take longer for a big tree to start to run when compared to a small tree? Non of my big trees ( three tap trees ) are running yet.

Yeah I think it takes longer for the big ones to go, but they are more regular once they do. Probably takes longer for all the wood to warm up compared to the smaller trees.

definitely takes longer for a big tree I have about 80 small sugar maples onlyone tap and they will start running earlie in morning and the big oneswont start till 11-12 on warm days

Think of it this way....which takes longer to warm up and then melt....a big ice cube or a little ice cube?
