Last year I evaporated with a block arch and thought "this is great"....... Nephew and I threw together ( 6 hours ) this Tankenstein. Boiled down 30 gallons yesterday and thought I was in heaven , not boiling on block arch. I can just imagine what it is like using an actual evaporator.
Going to do a little fine tuning like fire brick, transfer valves, and longer copper preheater coil. Everything worked great. I don't post much, but thanks to all the people who post their info on here. I wouldn't be having this much fun if it wasn't for this site and youtube.

Hey! Cool! How do You feed the oil - with a torch and air to atomize the oil? I'm curious and thanks.

Ausable, It is a wood fired evaporator built out of an old fuel oil tank "tankenstein"

Gad Zooks! I misread. My Arch comes from the same Family as Yours. I wonder if they are related? Hey! It has been a very long Winter.

Looks great. Wrap your preheater coil with some insulation and a piece of the next size up stove pipe, makes it transfer a lot more heat. Have fun.
