I'm wanting to make a barrel evaporator this year. Just wondering where you guys look to find the barrels? I'm from Canada and gave Kijiji a look but couldn't find much.

I haven't had to look for one in several years. But - Electric Generating Plants, Machine Shops or any Business that uses various oils for lubricating equipment and machinery goes through a lot of them - some they return and some they are stuck with. Just a thought.

Any kind of manufacturing plant, usually I go for food grade so I have flexibility, like using them to store sap. There is an olive oil bottler in my area which goes through tons. They sell the used barrels for less than the cost of the olive oil I drain out of the barrel. :) So I get (usually organic) olive oil for less than the store and a barrel with it.

Call up your local Quick Lubes, and they will tell you the company that they get there oil from. The oil company will be more than likely to give or sell you one.
