I have a 125 gph springtech mini elite. I just bought a new hydranautics PVD-1 from Joe @ Atlantic RO. This is the membrane that my machine presently has. I have the pressure vessel setting on my workbench and before I uncap it I just want to see if anybody has any pointers. Check out the pics. The top is crimped so I assume somebody was trying to tell me this is NOT the way to get in. On the bottom the pins just push in.
I'm going to push the pins out and uncap the pressure vessel. Carefully sliding out each part noting the order things come out. I'm unsure how that stainless steel end cap is sealed?
If anyone has any words of wisdom for me I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!

I pulled the pins but the cap won't move. Does it unscrew?

i dont have a clue but I would think just have to wiggle that end cap out after pulling the pins.
If it was threaded I wouldnt think you would need those pins

Hmmmm...That's a good point.

I slept on this and it helped: I drilled a hole in the low pressure outlet tube and ran a heavy piece of wire through the hole. I then hung the whole assembly from a steel beam that I have outside. The weight of the vessel put a pretty good separating influence on the end cap. I then laid a heavy piece of flat bar across the end of the vessel and tunked down on it with a sledge hammer. That got things moving with no damage to the vessel.
Maybe the picture below will explain it better.
I'm now going to call leader and see about all new O-Rings just to be sure I don't have to take it apart again any time soon.

just a tip use food grade grease on your o-rings and they will slide much easier !
