You can get a bender releaser and a gast 1550 vacuum pumps you should be able to get all that for 200 to 300 dollars. That pump on 100 taps should get you 20 inches of vacuum once you go vacuum u will not want to tap without vacuum.
Try a sap puller pump. CDL carries them, Maple Guys that run this site have them for less money go on to their website under the new equipment link at the top of this page.

Search Bosworth pumps. I have one, they work well.

Myself i have an area of 200 taps with no power so setup a harbor freight 79cc engine to drive a dry vane pump and a zero tank for sap all mounted on a skid that i move back home in off season. It works great and uses about 1.5 gal gas when running 24hrs

I got 2 complete bender releasers from ebay for $300 bucks shipped, bought replacement seals and such from hamby dairy online $40 and got 2 gast vacuum pump that are mounted on 35 gal air tanks when I got them, I reused the tanks as a mass storage and moisture trap, they where $160 for the pair off craigslist, used 2 - 275 tote tanks ($200 for both) and made a hut that sits on top of the tank with the releaser enclosed and the vac pump behind it under a small over hang. works great, I rent a power outlet from the neighbors house where I tap, that runs the vac pump and a heat lamp in the hut, all are setup on timers. good luck, once you go vac you`ll never go back to gravity other than buckets.

Its a Gast dry vane pump, tag fell off it but I saved it somewhere, got the pump used off ebay, its made to drive via a belt and about a 1/2 hp motor I believe. I also have a 1.5 hp direct drive electric motor driven Gast dry vane pump that is at the main farm where it runs about 700 taps. I like them for the simplicity and low maintenance. I attached a couple pics of the engine driven setup altho they realy don't show anything of intrest just the whole setup.
