A Maple Bubble?

That's the title of an article by Dave Sherwood in the current article of Northern Woodlands magazine.

Subtitled: How the Syrup Market Works, and What It All Might Mean, this article gave me a much better understanding of the factors that influence maple syrup. In the face of increasing numbers of taps, increased sap per tap, and efficiencies in syrup production, one has to wonder where things are headed.

I've no affiliation with the magazine, other than I have a subscription to it and this article caught my eye.

Yes, there is discussion of both production increases and consumption expansion. Also, a discussion of the influences of the Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers. Being fairly new to sellilng syrup, I didn't understand the effects of this Federation on syrup price support. Interesting reading.
