Sputter until the last week of March then go hard for a week! A little concerning. The big question is how fast it warms up into April. Definitely will be boing into April this year.

There is no need for you guy's to worry. I think we are all going to do very well this season. Last year I had 13 day's in March that the sap ran. It is only the 3rd of the month. You still have 28 more days left. The season could start two weeks from now and still we could get tons of sap. I shut down on April 20th last season and 60% of my crop was made in April. When do you normally shut down? I hope you all do very good.

My trees are mostly in Littleton, but March 10 is the typical start date for sap here. Last year, a friend of mine tapped on March 25 and got as much syrup per tap as i did tapping around march 5.

I think those 2 short warm ups had everyone (including myself) itching to get going so now the cold has been very depressing. Looks like a warmup for Thursday into the 40s this weekend. I boiled once made almmost 3 gallons but I've spent the rest of the time tightening up the new sugar house, splitting wood smaller, fabricating a new feed tank so no more hauling sap to the evap. Not as fun as boiling but productive
