Looking for 5/16 Y fittings

I have been trying to find a suppliers of 5/16 Y fittings and can not find one. I am located in Salem NY but am also willing to purchase on line..

What distributor has the best selection of fittings that may have a supply of Y fittings?

Seems like that should tell you that you should not Y 2 together. However, some producers do use t's to run 2 lines into one. Still not the best way.

i personally do not use Y's. to keep my system simple, i stay with all T's and it seems to work fine. But, to answer your question, the maple guys who host this site have them on the website.

I have a bag full of Y fittings. I did use some years ago, but found that of all the fittings made, these broke when put under tension.

Can't comment on the physics, but a T is a whole lot easier to put in with a tubing tool than a Y.

That explains it,I do them by hand hot water and I'm just a little operation,I just use tem to put together the taps at each tree

There is no "Y" in Maple. Straight is great! Better production.

I use a "Y" at the first tree on a lateral line or the last tree, depending on how you refer to it. It is the farthest tree from the tank to put it simply. I put a "Y" and put the drops between the "Y" and the tree. This way there is no dead space or the sap doesn't have to travel all around the tree if it is a very large tree. Works good for me especially on very large trees. Sometimes connect one lateral line with a couple of taps into another lateral line and I use a "Y". The straight part of the"Y" is on the main lateral line and the line branching in connects to the upper part of the "Y". I use "Y" forks for all my lateral lines coming into mainlines. This works greats and brings them in above the lateral line so there is continual slope on the lateral line down into the mainline and no low spots which happens with the connector with hooks on them when they hook the mainline wire. Also takes stress off the mainline in event there is a sudden surge on the lateral line from something falling on it.
