think they have the gallons wrong in the story...should be 4,800 gallons. 48,000 gallons alone would weigh over 550,000 lbs. like to see a tanker that could carry that weight.

Yeah, nice fact checking on that story. I would say that it's a shame that all that syrup spilled, but I bet its really just HFCS anyway so no sweat.

must have been a long truck. assuming a tank diameter of 7.5 feet (and it doesn't look that big) and a full tank, the tank on that truck would have been about 145 feet long.

just read one story that said 48,000 pounds, would be 4,000 gallons. any confirmation if it's actually maple syrup, or is it the fake stuff? Story seemed to indicate all of it was headed to one restaurant.

Must be out west they use bigger trucks. Even a typical rail car only carries between 198,000# up to maybe 220,000# if that.

Doubt it is maple syrup. On the Braum menu they just call it syrup. What restaurant would serve real maple syrup and just call it syrup.
