Our taps were set in place starting the first week of February. A lot of maintenance, repairs, updates, and additions have been put in place over the past few months and the hard work paid off last night! It was late in the evening when we started boiling up our first run of 2014, but was it ever worth it! 20 gallons of beautiful light amber syrup was drawn off shortly after midnight and the taste is exquisite. All froze up again here---by the looks of the forecast---for at least 4-5 days. When the trees break open again, though, we will be ready!
