I have two question...

1. Has anyone ever broken a coupler on a 250- psi procon pump with a 1725rpm 1hp motor? Everything is spec. correctly but for some reason it snapped.

2. I see that there a two types of couplers. A standard and a modified. They look the same, is the modified harded and could I have broken mine because it was a standard?

Just found out what happened. Air introduced made enough friction that it caused the pump to chatter stripping the key out.
PLEASE! If you are interested in a Series 4 Procon Pump (or any procon pump) talk with http://www.jcbeverage.com/ Joe is extremely knowledgeable on these pumps. I paid $180 for mine new and thought I got a deal... He sells the same one NEW for $130. Rebuilt $106 and to have your's rebuilt it's $76.50.
GREAT GUY!
