Hi all- This is my second year using tubing and I don't think I am maximizing the flow. I have a line with 10 taps that is pitched. I just checked the line and it is full with sap. However, there is only a slow drip (I would have thought it would be dripping faster considering the line is full). I noticed air bubbles that appeared to be flowing up towards the top of where the tubing begins.

Any ideas?

When I checked it was 12 PM and the temperature was about 40 degrees.

Thanks for any input.

Mike

I am by no means an expert but I have the same situation. Was told that it was normal because the full tubing creates a vaccum on the tap. I was also told that gravity tubing will produce less than if they were on buckets. The key to tubing is to get any kind of vaccum to it. But lets wait for some of the old guys to weigh in on this
