Put 1 tap in about a week ago, that tap is hardly dripping, with over 24+" inches of snow on the ground and then next week going back down in temps(not above freezing), looks like it won't happen til march at this rate.
Well the following week after this one passes we are going to tap regardless of temps so we are ready for when it happens. Probably going to be a quick season, from cold to hot?
This winter has not been the same since we started making syrup about 2004 ish. Any other time we mostly had taps in the day after valentines day.
