Too early to tap?

Just wondering if tapping 3-4 weeks before the sap starts to flow is to early. Peak season here starts end of march and winter is definitively not over yet.

Looking at our long range forecast here in central Ontario it really dose not look great for above 0 for the next 2 weeks at least then just around freezing and cloudy after that for a couple more I would try to hold off as long as possible it would be too bad if your taps dry up just a s we get a good run.

I tapped 1/21, and yesterday was my first flow. It is running real good here today. I used Leader CV2 taps. Likely any new tap should be good, 1 month doesn't look to be too long idle.
Last year I finished tapping on 2/7 and pulled the taps , finishing on 4/21. Almost all taps were still running, but the buds opened so I called it quits.
