Hanging a few dozen buckets today. Flows seem good so far. Snow is too deep for my tractor so we're hauling equipment on sleds.

Good luck this year, we moved from New Milford to Columbia last summer, bigger farm and more maples. I also pick up my Mason 2x4 this weekend, plan to tap on Sat and Sunday. Hope for a good season. How are the animals doing with all the snow this year?

Congrats on the move and bigger place. I think you'll like the 2x4. We're outgrowing our 2x3 - it does the job but takes too long for 40 taps. Bill Mason was a pleasure to meet - so knowledgeable and generous sharing what he knows.

Thought we would be seeing some flows with this warming trend but buckets are all still empty. Anyone else getting sap?

Nothing much yet, some frozen sap cubes in the buckets. I did start to see some sap in the tubing yesterday afternoon. Not much but a good sign. I think it will break loose today. Looking to start boiling this afternoon or Sunday. Good luck this year.
