Bad Wood

I am tapping my 3/16 lines and on two trees that looked healthy I hit bad wood like a dead spot. Do you attempt to find good wood or cap that tap?

well, depends. dead wood wont transport sap so it shouldnt be an issue. I guess I would look for a new spot to tap the tree and not worry too much about it
