Squirrel solution

8789 I came up with this idea three years ago and showed it at a local meeting last year. I now have used it for three years now and no squirrel damage where used. The squirrel will at times bite the outside tube but not chew or bite through. My son in law bought 100' at $30.00. This stuff is easy to find and is used to encase cables or wires. I have used up about 100' and have not replace any of it or the tubing it covers.Solved my chewing problems.

That's a good idea where you have persistent problems with critter chews but at 2x the cost per foot of new tubing you're better off fixing some leaks here and there.

I like the idea. I still prefer my 12 gauge, but this is a great solution. Attack on all fronts!

A 12 ga on tree rats? You must then need to fix more tubing. Try something smaller, like a .410 or even a 20 ga. I like a 22 for them, if you can find any ammo.

I have a 20 gauge but it is pump so not as fun as the 12gauge auto. The 20 gauge def. has the most notches in it. Cleaned up tons of squirrels with it. The 12 is a newer toy so it gets played with. I use light loads on tree rats. Can't miss! Shoot them out of the canopy so as not to disturb anything.

Don't get me going on .22 ammo. A 17HMR is a great squirrel round (as long as you don't intend to eat them after) and the rounds are typically in stock at wally world. Dang, I hate squirrels. I don't know what they like better, barn boards, or semi-rigid tubing.

I have my mainline wires insulated at the ends and side ties. I put an electric fencer on them and have not had a bite in three years.

good idea. I had a section that I could have used that. I will tell you though, when I take simple walks thru the sugarbush with my shotgun I never see a **** squirrel

I've heard of folks that nail rat poison up above where the deers reach for squirrels, I have never tried it I prefer trapping them in a bucket of oats or dropping them with my .410
