View Full Version : Parallel Flow Preheater

I'm having a hard time getting my hands on a bending tool, so my plans for a copper coil preheater talked about in this thread http://mapletrader.com/community/showthread.php?21704-Preheater-Vent-Location may need to be changed.

If I can't use coil, I think the next best thing for me would be a parallel flow preheater with rigid pipe. I've seen them laying horizontally in hoods, but I'm planning on setting mine vertically against the stack like the coil was going to.

I'll have plenty of head pressure from the tank above. I'll feed it from the bottom and exit at the top with a T vented back to the tank. Basically it will be the same plan as before, but instead of a single zig-zag coil, it will be three to four 1/2" pipes in parallel.

Any pitfalls or advice before going ahead with parallel over a continuous flow set up vertically?

Thanks,
Sean
