Hi All,

Several additions have been posted to the UVM Proctor Maple Research Center webpage. Go to http://www.uvm.edu/~pmrc/ and look in the "New Publications" section. New papers include: "How often to replace droplines?" (The Maple News) and "Birch Syrup Production" (NSRC), in addition to "Sustainable Tapping Guidelines" (NSRC) under the Tapping Guidelines section.

Please send any comments or questions about these papers to Timothy.Perkins@uvm.edu or Avan@uvm.edu

While you're there, please participate in the NESARE Maple Producer Spout/Tubing Sanitation Survey (http://alturl.com/5birp) We need to get as many maple produces as possible to participate. We are able to do research, participate in forums like this, do presentations, and write papers to help maple producers due to funded grant projects. We need your participation to demonstrate to the granting agencies that this is a useful project. There are over 10,000 maple produces out there -- only 400 have participated in this survey so far. It will only take a minute of your time, and asks for no identifying information. Please pass this link along to others in your area.

We start tapping on Tuesday. Best of luck to all on the upcoming 2014 season.

Refresh bump. Please take a few minutes to do our survey if you haven't done it yet.

Since most folks in the northeast are snowed in today, please take a few minutes to do the NESARE Tubing and Spout Sanitation Survey at http://alturl.com/5birp We really need to get as many responses as we possibly can.
